Bram Weijters, piano – OCT 29

Jazz Canvas is proud to present Bram Weijters, an amazing musician from Antwerp, Belgium. Jazz Canvas is one of his stops while he is on tour here in America. He will be performing with his regular bassist, Piet Verbist and our own Terry Marsh, drums, on October 29 at Knowles Studio in Poulsbo, WA.

Here is a little background on Bram:

Bram began studying music at age eight. As a teenager he played in several rockbands. After completing secondary education, he was admitted to the Antwerp Conservatory. Amongst his teachers were Erik Vermeulen and Christoph Erbstösser. After graduating for jazz piano in Antwerp he went to the Brussels Conservatory, where he graduated in 2005 for jazz compostion and arranging.

He played in several jazz formations including “Deep,” “Bram Weijters quartet,” “Muze 5,” with Chad McCullough, and as a member of “Hampster Axis of the One-click Panther” and often branches outside of modern jazz.
He performed as well with people from the hip hopscene like “Jerboa” DJ “Lefto” and “Mc Krewcial”, as with rockgroups like “Giants of the Air” (finalist Humo rockrally 2004), and accompanied French Chansons of Aznavour in the program “Aznavoners”.
